“Can’t wait for my movie vouchers to arrive!”

I wanted to make more time for movies with my daughter, so we both decided to buy 100 shares of Toho.
At 1,350 yen per share for each of us, it felt like a fun way to invest together. While the dividend yield is on the lower side (around 1.6%), I calculated that between the dividends and the movie free vouchers per 100 share the investment would pay for itself in about 20 to 25 years. Besides, it’s a classic entertainment stock—and with movie ticket prices on the rise, it felt like a great way to secure our “annual cinema pass.”
I honestly didn’t expect much in the way of capital gains, but the stock price has actually gone up! 📈
It’s funny how it works, isn’t it? The stocks I buy with no intention of selling are always the ones that end up climbing.
